Sometimes it is necessary to Be, rather than photograph



Domas Rukas is a Melbourne based fine art photographer working mainly with medium and large format analogue photography. Most commonly Domas works with portraiture and still life, sometimes installation and objects. 


His photographic prints have been exhibited both  nationally and internationally, both solo and in collaboration. He has been nominated as a finalist at the National Photographic Portrait Prize at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, Australia. His latest show was exhibited in Sydney, Australia as a part of Head On Photo Festival. 


He is a graduate of Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts, having further studied Master of Fine Art at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). Currently he is on a pathway of becoming an educator and completing his Master degree in education.
